Meet St. John’s Parish on St. John’s Island, SC. One of many barrier islands on the South Carolina Coast, we passed through St. John’s on our way to Wadmalaw Island, home to the nation’s ONLY tea plantation (more pictures to follow). Adjacent to this charming place of worship is a narrow dirt road that leads to the Angel Oak, the oldest tree east of the Mississippi (see below).
