These are some of my favorites from recent senior portrait shoot with the lovely Lauren Kelly. A few will soon be appear on my website!
What do you do when you find yourself with a case of the Mondays? Go to a public market of course. Formally Reid’s Fine Foods, 7th Street Public Market in uptown is a wonderful co-op of vendors and restaurants selling everything from pizza and coffee to gourmet chocolate and organic produce. The market’s mission to bring the community together through good eats while supporting local farms and small businesses is an important (and delicious) one.
One of the best afternoons I’ve had in a while: taking my grandfather to one of my favorite Charlotte restaurants, Dish. Where literally everything is delicious.
My offer to buy a drink for the person who can identify this tree still stands.
I can thank my sister for stumbling upon these extraordinary looking mushrooms. They remind me of something out of Alice and Wonderland.
I will be the first to tell you that being spontaneous is a very good idea. While I was looking forward to a short trip to Hilton Head with one of my roommates, when one of my professors (and favorite people) Jeff Goodman approached me about being a last minute replacement for the session four photography studio assistant at Penland School of Crafts, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I couldn’t pass up. And it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. This was the view I had every morning while sipping my coffee and chatting with my new found friends about the day ahead.
One of my favorite teachers, and people, Jeff Goodman was kind enough to share his water beads with my class last fall semester, and it’s taken me months to pull them out and have some fun with them. Looking through one is not unlike what a camera sees with out the mirror show the image right side up. I hope you enjoy!
